Takes pride in the industry
Under the company's breakfast meeting at ONS in Stavanger CEO Erik Haugane (picture) confronted the media's coverage of the oil industry. Haugane believe the oil industry's silence has allowed the environmentalists and activists to dominate the public debate in Norway - and that this is tabloid and not based on facts.

- We have every reason to be proud of the Norwegian oil and gas industry. Our industry is the most important for creating prosperity and development both in Norway and in the world.

Builds school with Kaizers in Rwanda 
Kaizers Orchestra set a goal to raise one million NOK to build a school in Rwanda. Det norske has had the pleasure to support the project with 700,000 NOK.

Active quarter
In the second quarter, Det norske operated three rigs simultaneously without incidents or injuries. Draupne and Storklakken were appraised with positive results, and Grevling proved potentially commercial resources.
