People like working in Det norske, and we enjoy each others’ company. We also wish to make a positive contribution to the rest of the community through sponsorships and support.
Det norske wishes to be an interesting and fun place to work. We have a flat and open organization that is characterized by mutual trust. Work should be fun.
The company sports club is an important social factor that motivates employees to choose a healthier lifestyle. The sports club has active groups at all our office locations and offers a wide range of activities at various levels.
Taking care of each other
The company has established a health and safety service at all its offices. The company has its own Working Environment Committee (WEC), which focuses on maintaining the good working environment.
Det norske aims to provide equal opportunities for everyone and does not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment in the workplace.
Det norske has a gender-neutral pay system, which ensures that men and women with corresponding positions and equal experience who perform equally well will receive the same pay.
In the time ahead, it will be challenging for the industry to recruit enough labor with qualifications in the most important technological disciplines. Det norske has a long-standing collaboration with schools, university colleges, universities and business and industry – especially in Northern Norway. This involves supporting apprentices, lectures, tuition and, not least, certification of companies in collaboration with the Verftsringen trade association in Northern Norway. Last year, we extended this scope to include geology classes at upper secondary school level, and more targeted information to the students’ associations at the Norwegian Institute of Science and Technology (NTNU).
Willingness to cooperate, sharing of information and knowledge, and continuous improvement shall constitute essential elements of our work and way of thinking. The company shall ensure participation and utilization of knowledge in all processes through assigning responsibility to each individual employee.
