| Oil discovery in appraisal well at Aldous Major South |

Det norske is pleased to announce an oil discovery in the appraisal well 16/2-10 on Aldous Major South in PL 265. The license is operated by Statoil. In addition to Det norske, the partners in PL 265 are the Norwegian state, through Petoro, and Lundin Petroleum. An oil column of 50 to 55 meters has been encountered in Jurassic sandstones. The semi submersible drilling rig Transocean Leader has taken core samples of the entire reservoir interval, whilst the logging program is still ongoing.
